Reading Local is an attempt to expose and promote local literary communities. We feature interviews with and profiles of authors, bookstore owners, publishers, agents, and the proprietors of local literary organizations. We offer reviews of books from local authors and publishers, commentary on news involving local literary institutions, and original content from local writers. Additionally, we pride ourselves on supporting any and all literary events occurring in our participating literary communities.

Beginning with coverage of the Portland literary scene in January of 2009, Reading Local has expanded to include Seattle and is looking to recruit bloggers in other locations across the country. If you have ideas or feedback on Reading Local, please feel free to contact us.
